Corrections Policy
Historical scholarship is continually refined, and even carefully researched reference material can contain errors. We want to know about them.
How to report an error
Use the contact form and select "Report a correction." Please include:
- The entry's title or URL
- The specific claim you believe is incorrect
- What you believe the correct information is, ideally with a source we can review
What happens next
We review every correction report against institutional and academic sources before making a change. If a correction is confirmed, we update the entry and refresh its "Last Reviewed" date. We do not publish a public changelog of edits, but factual corrections are never ignored once verified.
Disputed or evolving history
Some entries describe genuinely contested history — competing claims to an invention, or debates among historians about an individual's exact contribution. In these cases we aim to represent the range of credible scholarly views rather than take a single side, and we welcome being pointed to scholarship we may have missed.
